The WNBA in Albuquerque?

The New Mexico Sports Authority is making no secret about its desire to bring a Women’s National Basketball Association Team to Albuquerque, and the WNBA is entertaining the idea. WNBA president Donna Orender traveled to Albuquerque and met with Brian O’Neill, executive director of the Sports Authority last week. Plans are in the very early stages, and would probably require an arena to built downtown. But strong attendance at Lady Lobos basketball games speaks well for the city’s interest in women’s hoops.

NBA Playoff Update

There may be a major upset brewing in the Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers series. Detroit won a key game in Philadelphia yesterday, but the series is tied 2-2, and the seventh seed 76ers have shown they can win on the Pistons’ home-floor.
