Barack Obama was warmly received on his tour of the Middle East and Europe, but it was unclear how his trip would be viewed by voters stateside. Polls seem to suggest that it helped. Obama may be leaping to the political center like John Kerry and Al Gore before him, but his campaign has handled the pressures of a presidential bid with far greater skill than the last two democratic nominees.

It’s still early, but so far, you have to be impressed with the way Obama has stolen the spotlight from John McCain.
