In junior high, the big debate topic was Kirk Cameron vs. Michael J. Fox: who was cuter and most totally awesome. While most of my class went the way of the dumb, snarky Growing Pains star, I was firmly in the camp of Alex P. Keaton, the lovable Republican scion of Family Ties (which is also a far superior show). And I have been proven right. Michael J. Fox = American Treasure. Kirk Cameron = Creepily Earnest Fundamentalist Christian. Suck on that, girls in my algebra class in ‘87!
