Joshua Bell, who can command prices of about $100 per seat, busked. The Post called it “an unblinking assessment of public taste: In a banal setting at an inconvenient time, would beauty transcend?”But an unforeseen side effect is that the trial pokes a hole in the notion that Bell, though expensive, is somehow better than any other busker.
