Philip Johnston writes in the Telegraph that Britain’s right to free speech is waning.

He cites, as an example, the government’s refusal to let Geert Wilders, a Dutch anti-Islamist, into Britain.

Wilders espouses the belief that the Koran and the Muslim religion are inherently inflammatory, and meant to insight violence. Johnston points out that, while many may disagree with that view, the right to express it falls under the protections of free speech.

The best line in the article comes when Johnston describes the decline of free speech in this fashion: "the past two decades have seen a pusillanimous flight into cowering capitulation." Amen.
