Brian Morris of the Downtown Action Team said yesterday that Fourth Street Nightclub (Ralli’s), Knockouts and the Distillery received permits from the state to stay open until 3:30 a.m. It’s not clear if or when they’ll do it, but they have the option.

Recall Mayor Martin Chavez a couple weeks ago announcing Downtown bars could apply to participate in a
public safety experiment. If they stayed open past 2 a.m. without serving alcohol, drunk patrons might not dump into the streets all at once. They could sober up, and there could be a second wave of cabs.

Morris added that Launchpad, Sunshine, The Library Bar & Grill, Sauce and Proof have applied in the last few days and are waiting to hear back.

Dude.
