I’ve been hot and heavy on the mod music lately, so, because it got a mention in this week’s paper, let’s explore happy, sappy, fucking twee pop. Firstly we have New York City’s The Pains of Being Pure At Heart. Even the name is twee. Secondly we have Glasgow’s Camera Obscura. As I was discussing with one lady drummer last weekend, female vocals are often hard to take. Tracyanne Campbell’s voice is nice, though. And finally, in the interest of “keeping it real,” the classic twee of The Smiths.

Warning: There’s a lot of French kissing in France in the second video.
