Ice Skating

Cost: $10 adults; $2 children; $3 all skate rental

Just as ice skating is a great way to freeze during the winter, it’s a great way to cool down during the summer. Enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience on a Coolloop session, when there are two sheets of ice open and two ice tunnels connecting them.

Wild Ocean

Venture under the sea to witness the epic underwater struggle for survival between giant whales, rabid sharks and herding dolphins. Then join the more peaceful migration of billions of fish up the KwaZulu-Natal Wild Coast.

Take a walk through the Bosque and have an experienced tour guide interpret the wildlife around you. Keep your eye out for beautiful birds and the other forms of life that come out in the cool morning air.

16 th Annual Mudd Volleyball Tournament

Cost: $500 for a team of 12 (about $42 per person), must be 18 or older to play

Cool off in the “mudd” at the the Mudd Volleyball Tournament. Hosted by The Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation, it is a charity event to raise money for special needs kids.

Take a moonlit walk through the Bosque when the nocturnal animals are coming out—but don’t expect to see much through the dark. You’ll have to rely on your other senses to decipher the environment around you.

NMJW Salsa, Jazz & Blues Under the Stars

Different bands each night play a variety of cool music in the open-air amphitheater. Don’t worry about the weather: Concerts happen rain or shine.

Summer Nights Concert Series at Botanic Garden
