Known widely for her highly-lauded The House on Mango Street , author Sandra Cisneros is in town to do a presentation on an art installation she created at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (1701 Fourth Street). The installation is a Day of the Dead ofrenda for her mother. Cisneros will also read an essay on the work and share some poems, as well as excerpts from her new book Have You Seen Marie? A viewing of the ofrenda begins at 6 p.m. and the talk takes place at 6:45 p.m. While the event is free, there is a limited number of tickets, which will be given out one hour prior to the talk.
