Rez Life
Don James
Share ::
About a year ago, photographer Don James put out a book that chronicled a year of traveling across the Navajo Nation. On a budget of $100 a week, James covered more than 10,000 miles and shot more than 100,000 stills to give an insider’s view of his tribe. One Nation, One Year has been praised for its honest depiction of a culture that is often visually known to the outside world through dated images. Rather than iconic portraits from years long passed, James’ book shows modern life on the rez, accompanied by colorful anecdotes. James will be on hand to sign copies of his book today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Treasure House Books & Gifts (2012 South Plaza NW) in Old Town.
