Sweet Dreams

Our body is the only material thing we possess from birth to death. I aim to take better care of my body than any other material possession. No other material possession can give us more misery or more pleasure!

Years ago I foolishly stayed up late many nights and then felt like crap the next day. Now I like to go to bed at 9 to 10 p.m. and get up at 6 to 7 a.m.

When we get enough sleep we feel better, we look better, we think better, we remember better, we cope with stress and problems better, we enjoy better health, we are more alert.

Not enough sleep can make us ornery, hard to live with, even violent.

Many nights of not enough sleep can cause diabetes, high blood pressure, aches and pains, low energy, depression, heavy stress, colds, fever, diarrhea, sore throat, indigestion, headaches, early aging, AIDS, fat bodies …

Each hour we sleep
before midnight benefits us more than each hour we sleep after midnight. The most important way our bodies restore our energy and recharge our battery is sleep and rest.

The United States and many other brutal regimes torture some prisoners by
not allowing them to sleep.

I eat only raw plant foods and I exercise vigorously every day, but these can
not substitute for getting enough sleep. Not enough sleep harms ALL our body organs—our whole body runs down and we get sick.

Never consider yourself lazy for getting as much sleep as you need to be healthy and to feel good. Most of us need 8 or 9 hours or more of sleep every night.

Many years ago when I was still driving cars and trucks, I stupidly drove often when I was severely sleepy. Like drunk drivers, I risked crippling and killing others and myself. If I had my life to live over knowing what I know now, I would aim
never to drive sleepy!

If you are
not sleeping well, get rid of all electric devices in your bedroom—experiment for a month. We are 100 times more sensitive to electromagnetic smog during sleep than when we are awake. Unplug your lamps, clocks, radio … even unplugging your TV and computer can radiate voltage for hours or days, so never have them in your bedroom. Get rid of cell phones, water beds, electric blankets, metals spring mattresses, metal bed frames, synthetic carpets, synthetic pillows, radioactive smoke alarms, plastics … these all harm some people’s sleep.

For
good sleep, eat cabbage, garlic, onion, ripe bananas, spelt, Kamut, greens, ginger, apples, carrots, chile pepper. Eat nothing containing white sugar or white flour. Forgive yourself and everyone. No grudges. Appreciate all blessings.

Instead of a coffee break, find a quiet spot, lie down and take a short siesta. Why drag through the day running on empty, feeling rotten and acting crabby?

I treasure good sleep! No late-night parties for me! Why rob ourselves of the precious gift of sleep? Early to bed and early to rise helps to make us healthy and wise.

Letters: Blocking Reason Since 1992 Blocking Reason Since 1992

The childish antics between Democrat and Republican legislators has to stop. Everyone should send a strong message to D.C. by voting third party to break this ridiculous situation. Of course the Alibi will find some reason to block reason.
