You’ve probably seen advertised within Alibi’s hallowed pages or here on our website, the celebratory charity wine and art event the paper is hosting on April 6 at the downtown Hyatt Regency. This is going to be a stellar and fun event with offerings from 30 or more microbreweries and 50 or more wineries. We will also have some surprise craft distilleries handing out samples of and assortment of luscious spirits. If you would like to get a preview sampling of some of the fun and exciting products being offered at thus Bacchanalian event, stop by Quarters Wine Shop this Thursday March 15th between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., where representatives from a couple of the distributors will be handing out free offerings of fine wine and whiskey.

Pritchard’s Distillery out of Kelso, Tennessee will be doling out tastes of their hand crafted small batch bourbons, which are some of America’s best and certainly not to be missed. Vine Street Imports will be offering tastes of the wines from the artisanal small production family wineries they import from Australia. Vine Street prides themselves on representing boutique wineries with and eclectic attitude – “serious wines with not so serious labels”. Come by and taste the offerings from some of the “Land Down Under’s” most irreverent wineries – Engine Room, Boxhead and Shinas (owned by and Australian judge the offerings include “The Innocent” Viognier, “The Guilty” Shiraz, “The Verdict” Cabernet Sauvignon, “Sweet Justice” Moscato, and “The Executioner” Cabernet/Shiraz Reserve – described by wine critics as worth dying for).

So if you are a lover of fine Bourbons or boutique wines or if you are just a curious sensualist who would like to get involved in wine tasting but has always been to intimidated by the stuffy and condescending attitude of most wine experts, come taste some exceptional examples of today’s finely crafted wine and spirits in a festive and laid back atmosphere. Join
Quarters wine shop’s resident expert Anthony Speers, Australian wine expert Aaron Meeker as well as many Alibi staff members to taste the free preview samples being offered.
