Alibi is in a group hugging mood again. That means it’s time for a major party. This Saturday, July 7, head on downtown for some fine, post-Independence Day fun. Starting at 2 p.m., hot rod owners are invited to park their jalopies on Central in front of the KiMo Theatre. Parking spaces are limited, so it’s first-come, first-served. If you don’t own a classic car, just come ogle the awesome rides maintained by several of Albuquerque’s finest car clubs. At 6 p.m., KiMo Theatre will screen the hard-rockin’, clutch-poppin’ 1958 drive-in movie Hot Rod Gang. Tickets are $7 adults and $5 kids/seniors. At 9 p.m., everything moves down the street to the Launchpad for the Rockabilly Blow-Out. Local favorites The Hi-Lo Tones will be rockin’ out alongside El Paso legends Raw Deal. D.J. Lucky will spin tunes between sets and Burque Burlesque will be bringing some of New Mexico’s finest bump-and-grind practitioners to do their thing on stage. Tickets to the concert are $10. Cars, bands, drinks and scantily clad ladies? How can you go wrong?
