I've received quite a few frantic phone calls over the last couple weeks from people wondering just where the @#$*&!! our photo contest went. Yes, we originally planned to run the winners in our March 24 issue, but the contest got pushed back a couple weeks due to some scheduling mumbo jumbo that wouldn't interest you (trust me). We advertised the extension repeatedly in the paper, but several of you seem to have missed it.

No matter. The extension made it possible for us to receive even more entries. By my rough estimate, we got at least four times as many submissions as last year, and the quality was pretty damned high. Yeah, sure, we got our share of wank. That comes with the territory. But for the most part, we were ecstatic with the turnout.

Many thanks to Camera & Darkroom for once again sponsoring this year's contest. Located in Nob Hill at 3225 Central NE (255-1133)—with two additional locations in Santa Fe—Camera & Darkroom is our state's largest and finest dealer in photographic equipment. It's locally owned and the salespeople are experts in matching customers with the right equipment for their needs.

Each of the three winners of our contest will receive a $50 gift certificate to Camera & Darkroom along with four passes to everybody's favorite independent movie theater—the Guild Cinema (3405 Central NE, 255-1848). Congratulations to all.

Finally, I'd like to express my personal gratitude to Singeli Agnew, Tim McGivern and Elena Ailes for helping me judge this contest. You people are so kind. Now, on to the categories!
