I’ve got to admit I’m extremely excited about the upcoming city elections on Tuesday, Oct. 4. With a mayoral race, five city council races and ballot initiatives such as a raised city-wide minimum wage and voter ID on the ballot, there’s a lot at stake here. The Alibi just finished up our interviews with (most of) the candidates. Look for full coverage in our Sept. 15 election issue (which is also my mama’s birthday — aww). Keep in mind that if you want to vote and aren’t currently registered, the deadline for registering is Tuesday, Sept. 6. For details, call the Bernalillo County Clerk’s office at 768-4090 or just stop by and sign up. The office is located on the sixth floor of One Civic Plaza Downtown on the corner of Fifth Street and Marquette.
