I came across a cool website (nationalpriorities.org) that does a realtime estimate of the cost of the Iraq war. You can even narrow the cost calculator down to your state or city. (calculated by a population ratio)

Right now it says the national cost of the war is just shy of $220 billion dollars.

Cost for New Mexico is $740 million.

Cost for Albuquerque is $205 million.

The site also figures what else could have been done with the money…

Instead of the war in Iraq, we could have fully funded global anti-hunger efforts for 9 years, we could have built 1,978,538 additional housing units for the homeless or we could have hired 3,808,095 additional public school teachers for one year.
