Hear and see what New Mexico students think about the world they will be living in while you enjoy a cool spring morning at the Rio Grande Zoo.

At 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Africa Amphitheater, 14 contest winners from junior and senior high schools will receive awards for the essays and posters they created on the subject of “Our Climate, Our Future.” The contest was organized by the New Mexico Climate Change Project, a coalition of environmental, health and religious activists, to make students more aware of global warming.

New Mexico Environment Secretary Ron Curry will speak at the ceremony, and students will read their essays and display their posters.
