Shame, shame on me. Yesterday, Albuquerque said fare-thee-well and good luck to the ’06 Youth Poetry Slam Team headed to New York next weekend for Brave New Voices [check out our previous coverage http://alibi.com/index.php?story=14537]. I got an e-mail announcement late yesterday about the 7 p.m. farewell event at Winning’s Coffee Co. and said, “Hey — I should post this on the blog.” Good job, bozo. I hope some of you got to hear Albuquerque’s finest youths in action before their big eastward trek.
In other poetry news, there is a slam event tonight at the District Bar and Grill to benefit the Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority http://www.lambdalady.org/home.htm at UNM. It starts at 6 p.m. and it’s all ages (provided those not of legal drinking age purchase something to munch). I didn’t forget today! Let’s hope this recent lapse in memory is due to stress and excitement from preparing for the Spring Crawl http://alibi.com/index.php?scn=buy_wristband and thus only temporary.
