The Alibi ‘s evil art director, Tom Nayder, has turned me into an addict of Sci Fi Channel’s exceptionally intelligent space opera, Battlestar Galactica. I love the writing. I love the politics. I love the characters. I love the Hollywood-grade special effects.Unfortunately, we don’t have cable at our house, so when a new episode is on, my wife and I and other Alibi addicts have to invite ourselves over to Tom’s place for dinner and an evening of television viewing. (Tom is an especially fine cook.) If this annoys him, he really has only himself to blame. Anyway, I just learned that the cable station is making … gasp … a prequel to the original miniseries that will occur approximately 50 years before the cylons destroy humanity’s home planet of Caprica. Sweet baby Jesus! No word yet on when the new show will air, but you really should start planning that menu now, Tom. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it.
