At Saturday night’s Handsome Family CD release party at the Launchpad, I took the opportunity to get my mitts on a copy of Fast Heart Mart’s Red Record . The rockin’ acoustic two-piece band was one of the openers that night. Their Orange Album was already in heavy rotation at my house, and I figured it was time to go back in time and pick up the previously released Red . Don’t let the recycled packaging fool you (my CD case was constructed out of an old Honey Nuts of Os box). This is just about as good as local music gets. Pretty damn close to sheer genius.
