The University of Illinois mascot, Chief Illiniwek, did his final racist dance Wednesday night. Students cried, shook and donned black T-shirts in protest. I’ll be honest. I don’t really understand. If your mascot is outdated and offensive, why not change it? It seems so trivial to me.
