ÒCompromisedÓ Numbers at the Credit Union

So I logged into my bank account this morning, as I do every morning, and boy was I surprised to see a second credit card—one I hadn’t applied for and knew nothing about. I called the bank right away. Turns out the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union had debit and credit card numbers compromised.

The woman on the phone said the union didn’t know to what extent and isn’t sure how it happened. It’s still under investigation. The union is replacing many (all?) of the debit and credit cards. I was supposed to have gotten a piece of snail mail about it, but I have another problem with a neighbor lady throwing out my mail.

Thought I’d mention it for any other credit union members who don’t get all their mail or think paper mail is a waste of trees/time. Be on the lookout for new cards.
