Magnificent vistas, rodeos, drunk drivers at the scene of the crime and ordinary New Mexicans going about their everyday lives. A Year or So in the Life of New Mexico: An Uncensored Look at Life in the Land of Enchantment captures these moments and hundreds more. The 200-page-plus tome is as much a vibrant celebration of this state as it is an exploration into its mysterious and often dark recesses. Photojournalist and editor Rick Carver put the book together as a collaboration between more than 50 photogs. He’ll host a talk and book signing today from 2 to 4 p.m. at Treasure House Books & Gifts in Old Town (2012 South Plaza NW). All profits from the book go to Esperanza Shelter for Battered Families in Santa Fe.
