"This week’s ‘This American Life’ was really interesting" is becoming one of those truisms that comes up all the time in conversation.

Of course it was interesting this week. Being interesting is the primary function of the show every week. And breathing’s really good for your health.

What’s worth mentioning is the Chicago public radio program (and now the Showtime TV series) is entering uncharted waters tonight. Adorable host Ira Glass will broadcast from New York to select movie theaters across the country via satellite. The Starport at Cottonwood is one of the lucky ones. The show starts at 6 p.m. (visit www.thisamericanlife.org for for ticket information, if there are any left.) I’m going—are you?
