Here’s to a hero-filled weekend. Hazzah! Capoeira Encounter While Capoeira is a marital art, it tends to lend itself more to the art and less of the martial. On Saturday, July 19, The Albuquerque Corao De Ouro Capoeira studio presents its third annual International Capoeira Encounter featuring capoeira, samba and Afro-dance performances by masters from all over the United States and Mexico. The performance starts at 4 p.m. at the South Broadway Cultural Center. Tickets are $8 general and $4 children under 12. Artisans’ Fair The Albuquerque Peace and Justice Center plays host to artisans and craftspersons from all over Albuquerque this Saturday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Swing by for music, food, a range of exhibits and to support peace. The Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum plays host to KNME’s Science Café series this Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to noon. The subject of this month’s Science Café is ballooning and will feature a talk by commercial pilot Troy Bradley, some delicious food to nosh on and a screening of NOVA’s "Danger in the Jetstream."
