Turn off the SyFy channel and tune in to the real deal; Bubonicon 42, Albuquerque’s largest convention for all things science fiction and fantasy, lands this weekend at the Albuquerque Grand Airport Hotel (2910 Yale SE). For three days, unleash your inner nerd and get your fill of artists, authors, filmmakers, screenwriters and vendors. The theme for this year is based on Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy , so wear a bathrobe and bring a towel. Admission is $15 for Friday and Sunday and $25 for Saturday, or you can snag a three-day pass for $42. It’s $20 for the entire weekend if you’re 14 to 17. And children 14-and-under are free but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, or risk being vaporized on the spot. For more information and a complete schedule of events, visit bubonicon.com.
