So I’ve been hearing for a couple of weeks that Albuquerque’s housing market is mellowing out a bit, but I didn’t realize that it’s a national trend. According to a New York Times article on the subject, for the first time in more than a decade, the median price of previously owned homes fell. Sales were especially bad in the West. Sounds sweet, right? Let’s go buy us some houses! Except that the median price is still $225,000, and that’s a bit too rich for my blood.Also disconcerting: Does this point to looming economic depression?
