Your heart chugs like an old steam engine, so locomotives of a smaller scale might whet your appetite, too. G scale, a type of model railway suited for the outdoors because of its size and durability, are already rolling down the track at the Rio Grande Botanic Garden (2601 Central NW), but you can see more of them in action at Heritage Farm and vineyards during Farmyard to Backyard: Trains in Motion. The event, co-sponsored by the New Mexico Garden Railroad Club, also features local musicians performing railroad-inspired songs. That should keep you singing all the live-long day.
