Luisa Casso, President of the Downtown Action Team, announced two weeks ago that she is abdicating her throne in favor of a position with the SunCal Companies. There will be a farewell party for her next week at the Hyatt Regency. Luisa is proud of the progress DAT has made under her direction but simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with SunCal. She makes no mention of the $5 Brian Morris borrowed from her last week and it’s generally believed she’ll let it slide.In other news, a baby chimp was born at the Rio Grande Zoo. 30-year-old Elaine and her 19-year-old life partner Alf welcomed a bouncing baby ape of undetermined gender on February 5th, bringing the zoo’s chimp population to 11.Now, I’m not one for conspiracy theories but is it possible these two stories are related? What if every time DAT lost a president a baby chimp were born? If only the world made that much sense.
