Should the democrats be afraid of discussing national security, or should they jump at the chance to do so?In an article in The New York Review of Books Samantha Power makes a strong case for the later strategy. Power was Sen. Barack Obama’s chief foreign policy advisor before she called Sen. Hillary Clinton a "monster," and had to resign from her position. Power says Obama should explain his superior plan for ending America’s role in Iraq and for keeping America safe. She sights polls which show the public is starting to feel less confidant in republicans’ ability to make smart foreign policy decisions. It’s about damn time. The democrats need to take advantage of this encouraging trend.
