Mexico and Ireland are separated by thousands of miles, language and customs. But both cultures have things in common where it counts, including delectable dishes and high-energy dancing. Today, they converge as the National Hispanic Cultural Center (1701 Fourth Street SW) presents Día de los San Patricios to commemorate the Saint Patrick’s Battalion fighting for Mexico during the Mexican-American War. Catch traditional dance, food, a film screening and a panel discussion starting at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12; $5 for students, seniors and NHCC members. Children 12-and-under are free.
