This is the first footage I’ve ever found of one of my heroes: German-born bassist/composer Eberhard Weber. Here he is performing “T. on a White Horse” from his album The Following Morning . Fellow ECM recording artist Rainier Bruninghaus is on piano. Weber’s crazy five-string electric stand-up bass has a tragi-comical quality that makes me a little weepy. Such a sad little song to be sung by a cartoon elephant.
