The Environmental Protection Agency yanked the plug on its permit for the proposed Desert Rock coal-fired power plant in the four corners area.The Alibi wrote about the plant here, here, here, here and here.The EPA says it wants to review aspects of the permit brought into question by the state of New Mexico and environmentalist groups. Many questioned how safe the proposed plant would be for residents and wildlife. Some advocates for the plant argued the facility would create much needed jobs.
