Salon.com’s almost 10-year-old personality test locates you on Machiavelli’s spectrum of realism and idealism, most famously put forth his 1513 masterwork The Prince.

The test covers a point scale of 0 to 100, with "low Machs" (at weak-jawed zero, "dependent, submissive and socially inept") on one end and "high Machs" ("arrogant, calculating and cynical, prone to manipulate and exploit" at 100) on the other.

My Machiavelli score is 44—a low Mach, but basically in the middle of the pragmatism pack. By contrast, Rupert Murdoch is an extremely high Mach. Where are you?
