::Making Grown Men Cry Since 1992

There are three New Mexican joints that I can’t live without, and happily, I’m within a couple blocks of all of them. For pillowy tortillas and nontraditional, garlicky chile, it’s Duran’s. For green chile stew, it’s Garcia’s. For super-hot red and perfect breakfast burritos, it’s Cecilia’s Café at 230 Sixth Street all the way. (One of the waitresses told me the heat in the chile corresponds to what kind of mood Cecilia is in. It gets hotter as she gets angrier.)I stopped in for my morning breakfast burrito (ham, red, no cheese) and saw a notice on the door. “ Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” of the Food Network will be there Aug. 20 and Aug. 27. I’m stoked. I hope Cecilia gives host Guy Fieri plenty of attitude. Word has it the traveling food show is also hitting up Sophia’s Place at 6313 Fourth Street on the same days.
