I was walking back to our office on 4th and Central after picking up some lunch just now and, to my surprise, saw hundreds of silent people walking slowly up central. The front part of the group was shouldering a huge wooden cross, maybe six-feet across. Others were holding signs with saints on them. The line began heading north down 5th.Is this connected to the Chimayo pilgrimage? Maybe another Good Friday event? Anyone with pictures or more info can post here, or send me an e-mail at marisa@alibi.com, and I’ll put them up. UPDATE 1:37So it’s the 20th annual Way of the Cross: Saints and Martyrs of the Americas. It’s traveling through Downtown to reenact scenes.
