The Rio Grande Zoo just announced the passing of Moko, a 44-year-old male silverback gorilla. Moko died of suspected age-related heart failure and is survived by his daughter and five grandchildren. I just wish I had more time to spend with him. Last I visited the zoo, the gorilla area was under renovation. A zoo just isn’t the same without gorillas. RIP, Moko.
