It’s been several years since I read Haruki Murakami’s A Wild Sheep Chase . That was the last novel I ingested by the critically acclaimed, best-selling Japanese author. I recall lots of obscure and depressing sex, strange anthropomorphic metaphors and undertones of ominous violence. It seems those trends have carried over into Murakami’s more recent work.
