Here’s a blog I was alerted to about an Iraqi citizen’s reflections on the five year anniversary of the war in his country. He mentions that, after Saddam Hussein was forced out of power, he was hopeful about a new free era in Iraqi history. Since then, he’s lost all faith in the country’s political leaders and he hints that life under Hussein was actually better than what he’s experiencing now because of the complete lack of basic resources available to him and his family. It doesn’t speak well for the battle to win hearts and minds.
