If I hear one more right-wing idiot preaching to the public about how similar the war in Iraq is to World War II I’m going to flip out. We had to fight World War II. Germany and Japan were invading other countries. Both attacked our allies. Japan attacked us. World War II had a purpose. And Iraq? Didn’t. Apples and oranges. Yes, Saddam was a Grade Z scumbag. But that’s not enough to necessitate an invasion. The fate of the world hung in the balance in 1941. In 2003, the only thing that hung in the balance was our messianic president’s gigantic ego.
