Iwao Takamoto, little known creator of Scooby Doo, has passed away. Scooby Doo, in its many syndicated incarnations, is the most popular cartoon of all time. It pains me to say that because the show always makes me feel like shit (reel rike rit). Even as a child it pissed me off that the monsters weren’t real. Excuse me, did I give away the plot? Anyway, Takamoto also created the “Great Gazoo” character from the Flintstones, which is when Bedrock hit bedrock and jumped the shark. Rest in peace, scary little cartoon man!
