KiMo Shows Movies Again
Share ::
Downtown’s KiMo Theater has been quietly installing a high-tech HD projection system over the summer. Now, the historic site is back in the business of showing movies (in addition to all the great plays, concerts and Burlesque Showcases it hosts). While it’s unclear just yet how often KiMo will be screening films, they’re starting things off with a bang. This Saturday, Sept. 10, KiMo is hosting the Monty-Python-A-Thon. Starting at 8 p.m., it’s the Monty Python classic Life of Brian . At 10 p.m., it’s the equally classic Monty Python and the Holy Grail . Tickets are $8 each film or $12 for the double feature. On Sunday, Sept. 12, the venue will screen the local premiere of director Bette Gordon’s gritty new crime film Handsome Harry. That’ll also run you $8 and will get underway at 2 p.m. I, for one, can’t wait to start watching movies again in this awesome Albuquerque landmark. See you there!
