Democratic candidate for State Auditor Jeff Armijo just dropped out of the race following allegations of sexual misconduct. Whether or not the allegations are true, and my gut tells me they are, this is good news for the Dems. In addition to two different women filing complaints with the police after Armijo allegedly made unwanted sexual advances on them, he also claims to be good buddies with former State Treasurer Robert Vigil. Yes, that Robert Vigil. Armijo also has almost no accounting experience. I’m not thrilled that we’re circumventing the primary selection process, but the Democratic Party is better off picking a random name out of a hat than putting this bozo on the ballot.
