::Making Grown Men Cry Since 1992

It’s a gay weekend here in Albuqueerque, and happy we will be. As always, our busty city is bursting with entertainment options. Here’s just a few more to choose from: I Scream, You Scream, I Scream Some More— Local creamery I Scream Ice Cream is having one big hootenanny in their parking lot featuring the `50s and `60s grooves of the Solar Street Band, a dance contest and an impersonation contest. And ice cream. You’ve gotta love ice cream. Bring some lawn chairs and blankets on over to 2839 Carlisle NE at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 10, to cool off with the good stuff. Call 888-9420 for more information. Even More Pride— After a day full of Albuquerque Pride events at the fair grounds on Saturday, June 10 (be sure to check out the Alibi booth for a old-timey good time to benefit EQNM), you can kick back with a classy martini (or a dirty one, no one’s judging) at the Martini Grille for Fire–All Womyn Dance Party . The party just won’t stop until close, and the big wheel will keep on turnin’. Go Bare!— There’s no word I’ve seen as to an official event happening here in Albuquerque, but just so you know, Saturday, June 10, is World Naked Bike Ride day. Seems some folks in London like to ride their bikes–naked. Do as you will, or just ponder the pain. 2006 God Sex Politics Tour— True traveling minstrel Namaya will present poetry and storytelling at Winning Coffee Company (111 Harvard SE) on Wednesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. The stop in Albuquerque is part of an international tour filled with political satire, humor and poems of “flying pigs, greasy chicken thighs, quantum physics and true love.”
