The weekend hasn’t even started yet and I’m already tired. Oi. It’s another doozie, so let’s jump right in.

Happy Bloomsday! — “A man of genius makes no mistakes. His errors are volitional and are the portals of discovery.” — James Joyce. Celebrate the life and work of this great author at the Trumbull-Hesselden House (1211 Roma NE) with readings, Irish music, food and (of course) Guinness from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. tonight, June 16. Donations are accepted at the door. 310-6723.

Capoeira Cordao de Ouro — Martial arts set to music. No, it’s not a Jackie Chan flick, it’s Capoeira. Check out members of our local Capoeira scene Saturday, June 17, at 4 p.m. at the Albuquerque High School main gym. The event is free and open to everyone. For more info, contact Sereia at 401-0858.

Hot Salsa Night — If you’re in the Santa town this weekend and like to shake your thang, check out the Dance Station Ballroom (901 W. Alameda in the Solana Center) from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Saturday, June 17. The music will be designed for dancers and the space boasts a huge wood floor with air conditioning and a nightclub ambience. $9 gets you in and all-you-can-drink water and tea. Sorry kiddos, it’s over 17 only. (505) 989-9788.

Summerfest — The stage space on Civic Plaza is perfect for concerts in Burque’s chill summer nights. Nearly every Saturday this summer, the city plans to do just that. Summerfest is here again and kicks off Saturday, July 17, with a plethora of entertainment. On the main stage, Charmed starts things off at 6 p.m. and is followed by Born Ready, Doc Gonzales and the Country Swing Connection, Sandia Cloggers and Buckwheat Zydeco. On the teen stage, Matt Jones opens at 7 p.m. followed by Goshen and Curio Cowboys. It\’s more than just music–there’ll be face painting, a street market, food vendors, arts and crafts and more. Rock … I mean, country!

Art in the Park — Corrales is an artist\’s paradise, it’s true. Join in the artisan oasis this Sunday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the monthly Art in the Park exhibition at LaEntrada Park (adjacent to the Corrales Library). There’ll be art (of course), live music and a cool country setting. Admission and parking is free. Take your dad and let him pick out his own Father’s Day gift (it would be much cooler than a tie).

Out ch’Yonda’s Lost Show — Virginia over at Out ch’Yonda sent us an announcement for a show they are hosting just a bit too late to get into this week\’s music calendar. Your Heart Breaks and Karl Blau will be playing music and doing their thing on Tuesday, June 20. Check it out — support the scene.
