Love is in the air, and everyone’s getting busy. The sheer amount of Lost Luckies this weekend is staggering—there no excuses for laziness! Take your honey or find a new one just before the big smooch fest on Wednesday. Real Women Have Curves —Get over to Ushasti Gallery right now for a lingerie fashion show sponsored by Martha’s Body Bueno to "explore the world of sensuous, sexy lingerie modeled by real women" (their words … perfect). The show runs from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight, and make sure to view Valentines, Goddesses & Erotica while you’re there. Bob Marley B-Day Bash —Get jammin’ tonight at the Fourth Street Pub with a tribute to Bob Marley. There’ll be live performances by KevLee and The Uprising Band, CrazyFool and Element 37, and screenings of Bob Marley movies. $5 at the door. Circus Time! —The circus is in town, and Nicole Hopkins is on a mission to protest the Shrine Circus at Tingley Coliseum to stop cruelty to animals. I’m not sure of the times or what not, but Nicole will be there utilizing her first amendment rights and wants you to join her. King of the Mountain —If you wanna see some of the world’s best skiers and snowboarders battling it out for a world title, head up to the Taos Ski Valley ASAP. The event is all day tomorrow, Feb. 10, and is free and open to the public. Check out the Jeep Sports site for more info. Old Ball Game —My dad keeps reminding me that his perfect retirement job is ticket taker for the Isotopes. I think he would make a great Orbit, but I regress … If your dream job is at the ball park (or your just looking for a decent summer job), check out the Isotopes job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Isotopes Park on Saturday, Feb. 10. Take Me As I Am —UNM’s Queer Straight Alliance is offering up an evening of fantastic entertainment Saturday, Feb. 10, at the UNM SUB Ballroom C. Local comedian Dana Goldberg hosts an evening of entertainment including the Albuquerque Kings Club, LE and Social Stigma. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 general, and all the money goes to benefit Albuquerque’s queer youth group, Under 21. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.—fabulous dress not required but sooo recommended. A Spiritual Valentine —The Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living is hosting a benefit concert on Sunday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. and the line-up is quite impressive. Slated to preform are Stu MacAskie, John Bartlits, Rodney Bowe, Rahim Al Haj, Michael Herndon, Dianna Hughes, Glenn Kostu, Cathryn McGill, Hillary Smith and Patty Stephens. I don’t know the admission cost … but it’s likely not much and totally worth it. Call 884-4311 for more details. Pure Grass —The UNM SUB Ballroom is a hot bed for events this weekend. Stop by at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, to see Bruce Holl perform Walt Whitman‘s Leaves of Grass as … Walt Whitman! Tickets are $5 for students, $7 general, and all proceeds benefit the Commgrads (the C&J graduate student organization).
