Over this past week, whenever someone has said to me, "Hey, guess what I’m doing this weekend?!" My response has been, "Going to see Spider-Man?!" They look so sad when I’ve guessed their plans … So, what are you doing this weekend?

First Fridays Fractals —Get in and trip out. The LodeStar planetarium will be filled with math-based art tonight at 6, 7:30 and 8:45 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults, $6 for seniors and $4 for children. Call 841-5955 for more info.

Enchanting Orchid Jewels —The New Mexico Orchid Guild hosts a show at the Rio Grande Botanic Garden today through Sunday. On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be lei-making demonstrations and hula dancing performances. For more info, call 768-2000.

Caught in the Wind —The Santa Fe Brewing Co. is holding a benefit concert on Saturday, May 5, to help the victims of a series of tornadoes which hit the Clovis area. Performing are the Jeff Strahan Band, Amazing Larry, Bill Hearne and Friends, Busy McCarroll and the Ambassadors of Pleasure, The Georgie Angel Blues Band, Luna de Plata and Love Lies Bleeding. The event is all-ages and the $10 donation will proceed the United Way of Clovis.

Star Wars Page One celebrates the 30th anniversary of the original Star Wars movie at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 6. Walter Jon Williams, a local sci-fi author, will host the events which should get spacey! 294-2026.
