Ah. mothers. Where would be be without them? Well, not on Earth, that’s for sure. Celebrate mom this weekend—at home, in the park, from afar. If you need some suggestions, the City of Albuquerque’s website has a few. From what I’ve heard, flowers never fail.

We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay! S.W.O.P. and OmniRootz team up to present We Won’t Pay! We Won’t Pay! a play about the funny side of hunger. It opens tonight at Out ch’Yonda (929 Fourth Street SW) at 8:15 p.m. and runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday thru May 27. Tickets are $7.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving BBQ Wild Oats and M.A.D.D. are teaming up for a charity BBQ tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their San Mateo/Academy location. It’s $5 per person and all proceeds will be donated to M.A.D.D. While you’re there, enjoy food, balloons, a kid’s craft table, live music and just being with mom.

Show Off or Shut Up! —Come see performances by Ecotone Physical Theater, poetry by Theo Arellano, music by NACA’s very own Sarah Liranzo, a special Bent preview by Bradd Howard and more at the VSA N4th Gallery on Sunday, May 13, at 7 p.m. TIckets are $3.
