Saturday, we attended the 7th Annual Matanza in Belen. 46 pigs were buried, seasoned and served up for one admission price. This event had a better feel of community and local flavor than the State Fair! 27 booths served up the best potatoes and pork, carne adovada chicharones, ribs and anything else from the pig. Fresh sopapillas, fresh cotton candy and carmel apples had me hitting the antacid bottle when we got home.
