In an ideal world, beat-box king Rahzel and Bobby McFerrin hole up in a studio somewhere for a month or so with some honey and green tea to write a Grammy-winning album, which is shipped to my house as soon as it’s done. A collab between those two would be an advance for humans, generally. McFerrin is the superb singer and conductor, who should be known for so much more than “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” That little pop hit must plague McFerrin, as his classical and jazz skills extend far beyond. His disc Circle Songs is possibly one of my all-time favorite CDs. Dig through these clips if you’ve got an appreciation for mouth music.
